You did it! You bought your dream home, and before you moved in you had a home inspection and the house cleaned top to bottom. And finally, you, your family, and your belongings have a healthy and safe home.
Fast forward to the future, and you’re ready to move onto the next dream home. And now you’re struggling to remember when was the last time you asphalt-ed the driveway, or when you updated your electrical system. All of a sudden, you’re tasked with connecting the dots and figuring out who and when you had whichever service was done. It can be stressful and confusing, and you’re bound to forget a couple of things.
That’s why I always recommend my clients begin a maintenance log as soon as they hang up the phone on their first service provider. Even if your dream home is your forever home, it’s always handy to know when the last time your septic was pumped, or if it’s high time for a furnace inspection. Keeping your home regularly maintained and keeping record of maintenance can go a long way when it’s time to resell to get top dollar.
So how do you keep a maintenance log? You can make it as low-tech as a notebook, or as complicated as an excel spreadsheet. Or, you can try the easiest option – downloading my free & printable maintenance log worksheet! Click the link below to download today!
